About Us

Katherine T. Hsiao, MD, FACOG

Dr. Katherine Hsiao is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

She specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and has been in private practice for nearly 20 years.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Neuroendocrinology from Cornell University. Dr. Hsiao attended medical school at the State University of New York in Buffalo and moved to San Francisco to complete residency training in Ob-Gyn at the University of California, San Francisco. She was mentored in laparoscopic surgery by UCSF professors who helped perform the first IVF cycle in Northern California. Serving as Chief Resident during her final year of residency, she was the recipient of the UCSF Ob Gyn resident teaching award.

Dr. Hsiao now serves as volunteer clinical faculty at UCSF Medical School and is the current Director of the Ob-Gyn Resident Education Program at California Pacific Medical Center. She received UCSF Ob-Gyn volunteer faculty teaching awards in 2009 and 2010.

She has been the recipient of the prestigious America's Best Doctors Award every year since 2005. This award - based on peer Ob-Gyn physician reviews - places Dr. Hsiao in the top 5% of physicians in her field.

Dr. Hsiao volunteers at the Asian Pacific Islander Wellness Center LGBTQ Free Clinic, and donates her services and expertise via the San Francisco Free Clinic and Operation Access.

Dr. Hsiao is a member of the American Medical Association, San Francisco Medical Society, Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

She is a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is currently one of only a few select surgeons in the Bay Area to have completed advanced training and certification in robotically-assisted laparoscopic surgery.
